Building Week 17

Day 113 – 119

Wow it has been a while since my last post. It seems that life got the better of me so I’m sorry for those who are following our build I’ll try to get better with posting on the blog. I have been quite busy these last few months with the business. I’ve had a couple of weddings and a bundle of portraits so all my efforts have either been on that or with the family but I will post about all that separately.

We have had a huge last couple of weeks. We now have an almost completed brickwork and a roof – yup we have a roof! So hopefully that speeds things up and we’re not as susceptible to rain days as we’ve had more than our fair share (16 so far). As Michael says, it has been a monumental week with the build. Michael had the time to checkout the block while they were putting on the roof tiles which was pretty cool as they used this conveyor belt system. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to see it as I was away at a photography workshop but here is pic so you can see what I’m talking about.

I did manage to walk through today including upstairs – I’m pretty nervous about the ladder (and heights) so I don’t get up there every visit. The balcony is a little odd to me, it is actually just over half the size that it looks from the front of the house – due to CDC requirements. Hopefully one day we can make it that whole area but even without that it is a good size and the view is still incredible.

We were told on Friday that we are approximately 10-12 weeks away from completion!! While I’m not holding my breath we are very excited. All of a sudden it’s battle stations are go and we are frantically packing our current house so we can stage it for sale. We have decided that we are going to use buymyplace.com.au to sell our house and hopefully I can convince hubby to buy a 5D mkiii and 50mm 1.2L series lens… I can great right??

Thats all for now – night night x

xoxo Sami
